Recent Projects

  • In partnership with the state literacy team, Blue Ribbon is organizing and facilitating Rhode Island’s first Learning Lab for Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia.

This work involves identifying and contracting with a series of expert speakers to present on high-interest topics in literacy.

Our goal is to ensure parents, guardians, caregivers  and educators are supported in recognizing characteristics of dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia,  and related disorders as well as develop an understanding of evidence-based interventions and  accommodations to support student success.

We are also consulting on the roll out of a literacy walk through tool designed to identify model literacy educators.

  • We served as chief grant writer for a $40 million literacy grant awarded to the State of Rhode Island in 2024.

This was one of the largest education grants awarded in the state’s history.

The grant will enable districts to hire and support instructional coaches in literacy, provide Tier I, II, and III instructional supports to students across the state, and enable partnerships with institutes of higher learning.

  • As a subcontractor for national education organizations, Blue Ribbon consults on a wide variety of state and district level initiatives, including but not limited to:

    • Coaching math and ELA instructional leaders to support teachers, implement high quality curriculum, and monitor progress towards student achievement goals in a large urban district. This work led to significant gains in state assessment performance results across all campuses directly served.

    • Working with instructional leaders in one of the nation’s largest states to evaluate instructional frameworks and coach regional service centers so that they can provide high-quality curriculum implementation coaching to local education agencies.

    • Partnering with Special Education Case Managers in one of the nation’s largest urban school districts to adapt high quality instructional materials to ensure that differently-abled students are able to access and succeed in core instruction.

    • Serving as the lead Project Director to support the multi-year roll out of a statewide implementation framework, professional learning series, and suite of materials to support curriculum implementation strategy in partnership with a state department of education.

  • Blue Ribbon is screening clients and groups of all ages for equine-assisted experiential sessions! Join Jingles & Holly, a brother/sister pair of mini ponies, as you develop important practical or academic skills.

Sessions are fully customizable based on client goals. Some examples of current equine-assisted offerings: school visits with the ponies (literacy focus), equine-assisted tutoring in math or literacy, equine challenges centered on the development of key life skills, and fundamentals of horse care.
